Expungement Reform Act Signed
Governor Moore signed the Expungement Reform Act into law yesterday.

On April 22, 2025, Governor Moore signed the Expungement Reform Act of 2025 into law. It expands the number of criminal convictions that can be expunged. In most cases, eligible charges can be expunged five years from the end of probation. The law takes effect on October 1, 2025.
Some of the new charges that can be expunged after the waiting period include credit card theft, making a false statement to a police officer, writing bad checks, and driving without a license. In addition, the law will now allow expungement even if there was a parole or probation violation. Individuals with criminal records have a difficult time finding jobs or leasing an apartment. Expungement give them a second chance and clean start.
Every year, the legislature expands the scope of convictions that can be expunged. If you have a criminal conviction that is eligible for expungement, you should do so immediately. The forms are online or an attorney can do it for a small fee.
